The instructions are in English but it is possible to figure out what to do even if this is not your first language. The hardest part is selecting the right trains, wagons and weapons for your needs. Planetary Orbital Defense POD is a "Defend your thing" game (like Missile Strike or Bowmaster), and it's one of the best I've played. Benjamin Colwell (webmaster of IndieFlashArcade.com, made the entire game himself (graphics and programming) in about six months time. His friend DJ Kuru composed the music electronically in his studio. You must defend your city against an ancient race of aliens. The game offers a large range of ennemies and powerups, in an enjoyable pink atmosphere. Addictive. The design of this game is very closed to the one of Benjamin's previous game (an excellent Asteroid clone), Q-Zoid. Use the mouse to aim and shoot. A to change unit, S to select next powerup, D to activate powerup, Z, X to move your tank. Keys are customizable. Use your net shooter and take care of your re-usable nets. Use the arrow keys to move and press space bar to shoot. Capture the Kaput and Zosky brothers to save the earth!

The game brings a lot of beautifully designed levels and the unique "polarity" feature. Press the key 'B' to switch the polarity between red and blue. Space! This is a stylish 2D vertical scrolling shooter. The game is not playable online, you must download it first (windows only, for non english speakers, click on the text "DOWNLOAD!") but it's quite light (1Mo) and doesn't require an installation. The gameplay is not that much original (arrow keys to move and Z to shoot) but it's got a pretty unique visual style that make it very enjoyable. After a while bosses appear (7 bosses), and you get upgrades to tackle the mounting difficulty. The game is brought to you by cactus from game maker community, and it's free! Enjoy.
