 Scared
Scared is a little first-person 3D shooter for Java developed by Dave. Its engine is very similar to Wolfenstein 3D. The game itself is not actually fun, I just wanted to point out this nice engine that could be used to do great games.

A classic tank game developed in Java by Jens of gamemakers.de, featuring a 2 players mode. Try to destroy the tanks of your enemies by adjusting the angle and escape velocity of your bombs and firing away. Right and left arrows control the angle. Up and down arrows control the velocity. Enter fires the tank.

After Javanoïd, here comes a great Flash remake of Arkanoïd. This one is very similar to the original game but is not a clone. About 20 powerups to discover and different types of blocks to destroy (incuding a nice chain reaction block).

 Bubble splash
Bubble Splash is another game based on the basic match-3 mechanic. It has been developed in java by Felix Wiesner and Mathias Menzel-Nielsen from Mausland Entertainment (interview on freegamesnews). Bubble Splash is inpired from Magical Drop, a series of fast-paced games designed in the nineties for the Neo-Geo and Super Nintendo consoles. Grab and then re-stack bubbles using the arrow keys. The game ends when a bubble reaches the bottom of the game’s window. If you like thuis gameplay, you can also play Sort it out and Puzzle bobble.

 Gamma Bros
Gamma Bros is an old school space shooter created by PixelJam. The brothers Buzz and Zap Gamma work in a giant space station near Jupiter and make the trip from Jupiter to Earth. You must choose on of the brothers and blast ennemies, collect coins and powerups, to make your way to Earth. Arrow keys to move and WASD keys to fire in each direction. The game is actually enjoyable to play, as the authors made a great job on the graphics and designed a nice variety of ennemies. They also made a good work on the difficulty of the game that start easy and comes slowly more difficult.
