23 July 2004 15:302JP De rien, c'est du plaisir J'ai besoin de ton aide: pépère - ça veux dire "grand-père" ou c'est le nom propre?? Puisque je ne suis pas française, ce n'est pas très facile à distinguer...
jp
Profile
23 July 2004 16:00Pépère est un nom propre.
Mais il y a aussi un jeu de mot car l'adjectif "pépère" veut également dire "cool" ou encore "tranquille" ou encore "paresseux".
Voilà A+

3 August 2004 10:43that's very funny, i saw you've just registered to pepere.org and i thought that there was quite a lot slovenian people member of pepere.org now. I decided to add the slovenian language. I hadn't see your request message and I didn't know you would be interested so quick in translating the website. Good luck, with 300 items to translate, it is quite long now...

Mindraker
Profile
3 August 2004 12:27"Concour" is not an English word. "Concur" (in English), however, means "to agree". A "concourse" (in English) is "an open hallway". "Concours" in French, means "a competition" in English. "Concourir" in French, means "to compete" in English.
jp

3 August 2004 15:02I've replaced concours by competition now

3 August 2004 23:48A search engine for your site would help, because as a translator, I am looking for specific words or phrases, but I don't necessarily know where the pages are on your site that contain these words or phrases. Therefore, I need to go "hunting" for where these phrases are, based on the context of very few words. Or, alternatively, you could make the 4 selections at the top (Home, News, Directory, Adventures) be a pull-down menu so that we would have more ready access to all your webpages from whatever page we were currently on at the moment.
jp
Profile
4 August 2004 01:47The top-right searchengine, search only on title and descriptionof the game directory.
You can also use google for thos kind of search, request "site:www.pepere.org your search". Maybe I could put a direct form in translation section looking for terms in google for site www.pepere.org?
For the pull-down menu, is it javascript?

8 August 2004 09:03Yes, if I try using a sentence with an apostrophe, I get the following error:
You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near [and then it gives the location of the apostrophe, the date, and the time].

9 August 2004 11:30It is not clear when you mention the number of members that you have on your website -- do you have 3000 members "total" from your ENTIRE site, of which the 3000th happens to be from Poland? Or, do you have multiple countries, of which Poland is a member, and Poland has 2998, 2999, 3000 members? I think that should be made more clear.
jp
Profile
9 August 2004 12:03HTML is not easy, you just have to let tags as same. I will try to make a [xxx][/xxx] simple language later. Good job anyway .
There is only 4300 members for now, each time i say who is the xxxxth member and where does he come from. I will make it more clear.

9 August 2004 21:58 Have you tried using their own forums http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/ as an advertising tool, then? Doing this will accomplish 3 things:
1) It will bring your webpage to a large audience.
2) It will give YOU credit for your work, because people will see your work on your webpage.
3) It will prevent further abuse from this particular domain (ebaumsworld.com) from stealing your work.

10 August 2004 19:38How do we define a translate a word which has no equivalent in a foreign language? For instance, the word "The" in English does not translate to Russian. (One simply does not precede nouns with the word "the".)
